Faienceries De Gien Dinner Service

And so I continue my post featuring the on-going Festival Colbert in the region.

Established in 1821, la Faincere De Gien creates varied collection including decorative pieces as well as dinnerware services that are either classic in style or more informal. Aside from the impressive know-how, the excellent reputation of the house lies on its desire to create new producs inspired by tradition in collaboration with famous artists and designers.

For the first Festival Colbert in Dubai, Gien brought it Horses of the Wind, a dinner service  celebrating the elegance of Arabian Horses and generally associated with Arabian Pincess.

The artist behind is multi-awarded Marine Oussedik, a sculptor, illustrator, and horsewoman.

You can see more objects on display from the Festival Colbert here.

Medical Malpractice Lawyer

I received my latest copy of Hello! Magazine Midle East and included on the front cover is the celebrity power couple Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones attending a Halloween Bash. Two months ago, Douglas was diagnosed  to have a throat cancer. And last month, Zeta-Jone gave an interview that she was furious the walnut-size tumor went undetected by several doctors.

Failure to diagnose is among the highest ranking medical malpractice we have today. If you believe you, your relative, or someone you know has been a victim of a professional while doing his trade, guard your well-being and seek legal assistance.

Bear in mind these pointers I read online when looking for the right medical malpractice lawyer:

1. Find lawyers who are located in your area such as Medical Malpractice Attorney Tacoma. Lawsuit involves frequent meeting with them. Your physical well-being may prevent you from a distant travel.

2. Seek for lawyers with proven experience and long standing track record.

3. Do not hesitate to ask questions to your lawyer. It will be beneficial if you know his understanding of the medical laws.

4. Be honest. A fast and accurate case will save you a lot of time.

5. When medical professionals let you down, keep in mind that medical malpractice lawyers are there to help you.

Shoe-ness

"Age shouldn't affect you. It's just like the size of your shoes - they don't determine how you live your life! You're either marvelous or you're boring, regardless of your age."
~ Steven Morrissey

Will probably be wearing boots come December until February . Until then, these are my current pairs:

I have a thing for patent pumps (and bags lol!). I think they are much easier to clean. And that shiny polish gives off a squeaky clean look.I bought my first pair (from Paprika) three years ago and I am still wearing it today.

This is from Red Herring. my first stuff from the store. I used  it first when we attended the 2010 Cartier Exhibit.

Metallic ballet flats from Topshop. This is the second item  I bought from the store. The first Topshop I owned was a silver metallic tulip skirt. I love how they execute the "metal" design and color. Sparkly but not loud and cut in a really elegant manner.

These gray patent are my autumn favorite from Pretty Fit. They are next to the comfiest pair I own.

DePuy Hip Recall

As I continue my post on DePuy Hip Recall, I found one interesting question raised by a reader: What is wrong with a surgery revision?

The site, called Hip Recall Attorney dedicates a page on questions you should ask your doctor if your hip replacement failed. Two questions of them addresses the risk of a surgery revision and I share with you what they have to say:

1) The only way to repair a defective hip implant is to replace it during a second "revision" surgery. These procedure is longer, more technically difficult, and yields less satisfactory result than the initial surgery.

2. While each case is unique, your doctor should tell you that a second hip device is more difficult to position because the bone on which it will be mounted may be compromised. The surgery will take longer, resulting in greater blood loss. Your recovery will also be lengthier due to a greater danger of implant dislocation.

If you opt then not to have a revision surgery, do know that the recalled DePuy hip implants had been determined to fail at a very high rate and can cause high levels of metal ion release.

Learn more of your rights and seek legal representation. Contact a DePuy hip recall attorney for free legal advice today.

Avoid Recreational Water Illnesses

My son's all time favorite activity is swimming. People give a big smile of approval when they see him confidently jump on the water or when he imitates adults floating, lying on their back. I'm thankful that so far, he has not suffered any serious Recreational Water Illnesses (RWI). We owe this largely to our ever-cheerful building watchman, Narsa, an Indian national.

Our brave, little floater.

Narsa regularly cleans the rooftop swimming - even on days nobody is using it (when the weather is too cold for a dip). Sometimes when we just feel like catching some fresh air, we go up and there is Narsa armed with pool cleaners. He vacuums, scrubs the tiles, sweeps the deck, and empty the strainer basket.

Earlier on, I wondered why the pool never smelled strongly of chlorine despite the regular cleaning. I learned that the smell is actually chloramines - a combination of chlorine, sweat, and urine. A perfectly clean and safe swimming pool should be odorless.

Here are other steps to avoid Recreational Water Illnesses:

  a) The pool's bottom should be clearly visible.
  b) Shower before going into a pool
  c) Take small children on frequent bathroom breaks
  d) Wash hands after going to the bathroom
  e) The tiles of the pool should feel smooth not slimy
  f) Listen for the sound of working pool pump
  g) Avoid swallowing pool water

Topshop Catwalk Show (Part 2)

Thank you very much for your continued interest. I shall now proceed to share the current accessory (shoes, bag, make-up) collection from Topshop.

The clothes collection can be found here.

Let's Play Dress Up!

You'll probably see me out and about Dubai in a skirt and tee. These pieces are my current fave.

Shirt by H&M; Skirt by New Look

I only wear jeans when I take my son to parks and play areas. When I feel on a holiday mood, I turn to maxi-dresses. Oh i'm such a  huge fan! But a staple on my wardrobe is a knee-length dress. The photo below is one of my favorite piece.

Just a Quick Note

I hope Sugar Daddy's is available in AUH
Hey, hey, hey! Been really busy and so much is going on but I just want to thank you my dear readers for visiting my blogs. I've been typing like crazy trying to beat deadlines for two days now. The holiday season is fast approaching, I gotta earn cash lol!

Anyways, I joined a blogger exchange gift for two reasons: more new blogger friends and to learn about the postal/courier system here. If it goes successfully, I'm planning a give-away to my followers to say a big thank you =)

I am also contemplating on turning this to a wordpress blog and get my own domain but i have no idea where to start lol! Anybody reading this with an online hosting business, I'd love to hear from you.

Lastly, the family is bracing for a big move to the capital. There's a huge possibility that we will be spending our Christmas this year in Abu Dhabi. I cried my heart out a long time ago since I heard the news. Dubai is my ultimate fantasy land but one has to move on.....for the better.

Arrivederci!
