The place is called Madinat Jumeirah, inspired by the city of Venice. It is a shopping complex, offers luxury hotel accommodations, award-winning restaurants, and a superb nightlife. I took the photo from the adjacent five-star Al Qasr Hotel. The sailboat-like structure at the far-end is Dubai's 7-star hotel.
